Aftercare & considerations for all fillers:

The most common side effect of tear trough filler is oedema – swelling. This can be prolonged with tear trough, but usually subsides within a few days for most and for some can last a little longer.
Pain – mild at the injection site
Erythema (redness)
Itching and bruising
Bumpiness, this will subside over a few weeks when the filler settles down and blends with your skin.
Most common side effects will subside within a few days / weeks, but this is patient dependant.
It is very uncommon to have a hypersensitivity / or allergic reaction to true hyaluronic acid fillers.
Vascular occlusion very rare (filler injected into a vein / artery) 1 in 100,000
Local tissue necrosis
Infection at the injection site
Herpes simplex (cold sores) virus infection; the filler can reactivate a dormant infection
Abscess / cellulitis
Tyndall effect – filler appears like a bruise
Surface irregularities and nodules
Biofilms (Chronic infections)
Foreign body granuloma – hard nodules
Dyspigmentation - discolouration
Scarring

Aftercare

There is no need to rub/massage the area, especially the tear trough if you have had this procedure as it can increase swelling.
It's fine to gently clean the area before bed.
The injected area may feel lumpy or bumpy for approximately 2/3 weeks until the filler ‘blends’ with your skin (This time maybe longer, dependent upon the patient).
Do not apply skin creams or makeup for 24 hours post procedure.
Do not engage in excessive exercise for approximately 24 hours post procedure.
It’s fine to take simple pain relief such as paracetamol, but avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen/aspirin/voltarol for example.
The area that has been injected may bruise, which is common, however you should observe the area for any unusual developing redness.
Stay out of extreme heat, e.g. saunas, tanning, sunbeds for two weeks.
Always wear a high-quality SPF cream (such as Heliocare) over the area to increase the longevity of your filler.
Avoid drinking excessive alcohol for 24 hours.
If you are experiencing a lot of pain / increasing pain that you are concerned about, please get in contact with us.

NB: Non-surgical rhinoplasty

The nose is a rather vascular area and has many capillaries and blood vessels. This means it is more of a ‘risky’ place to treat with filler and is more susceptible to complications. We ensure that every possible effort is made to avoid any potential complications but it is vital that you report any concern to us as soon as possible.

If you experience any of the following, please ensure you get in contact with us (details are below)
Pain
A red nose tip, anytime following the procedure.
Swelling (severe)
