Do I need dermal fillers?
From the age of 30, some people start to lose volume in the fat pockets within the face, particularly the cheeks and under eyes.
This can produce a flat appearance under the eyes and the loss of volume tends to allow facial skin to ‘sag’, resulting in pronounced lines from the corner of the nose to the mouth. These are known as the nasolabial lines.
Meanwhile other areas of the face gain fat, particularly the lower half, creating bagginess around the chin and jowls in the neck. This can result in ‘sad’ or marionette lines which turn downwards from the corner of the mouth.
What are the benefits of dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers offer a range of benefits, and can be strategically applied to different areas of the face to address specific concerns. They are a flexible treatment that can be used on the middle and lower parts of the face to achieve a more refreshed appearance or enhance the natural contours and definition of the features.
The gel used in the fillers contains a significant amount of high-quality hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in your skin. This deeply moisturises the skin and improves hydration. We aim to give your face a smoother and more natural appearance.

The results are immediate, so you will see the difference right away.
The duration of the effects can vary depending on the specific filler used and the area treated, lasting anywhere up to eighteen months.
What filler products are used and how much will I need?
We only use the highest quality fillers, including brands such as Teoxane and Belotero, from reputable pharmacies. Different fillers are used in different areas of the face. For example, a more viscous filler is used in the cheeks and a finer filler is used for the eye area.
You may need to return to the clinic for further treatment to achieve full potential results. People often find they have a small amount of filler and then later build upon that treatment to get to where they want to be.
TREATMENTS
Cheek filler
Dermal fillers are used to enhance and restore the height and fullness of your cheeks, giving the cheeks a fuller and more refreshed appearance.
They can also subtly reduce the appearance of jowls along the jawline and help with eye hollows or bags (where appropriate) when combined with tear trough filler.
If you're unhappy with the shape, symmetry or contour of your cheeks, cheek enhancement with fillers could be a solution for you.

The results of cheek enhancement are instant, and any redness or discomfort usually subsides within a day or two.
The duration of the results can vary depending on factors like metabolism, age and lifestyle, but typically lasts between 12 -18 months or longer.

TREATMENTS
Chin filler and jawline filler

Chin and jawline filler is a minimally invasive procedure that involves using dermal fillers to immediately enhance the appearance of issues such as;

A cleft chin / chin dimple (Bum chin!)

A pebbly/bumpy chin – see also botulinum toxin

A weak chin

Horizontal crease – mental line or labiomental sulcus – see also botulinum toxin

Improvement / definition of jawline
Genetics, weight gain and the aging process can contribute to a sagging and less defined appearance of the lower face.
Dermal filler can be used to improve the contours of the jawline and reduce sagging.
Sometimes a combination of filler and botox is helpful, or combining with the PDO thread lift.
Aqualyx and DesoFace can also be used to dissolve fat cells safely, destroying them permanently. Normally a course of treatment will be required, but used in conjunction with fillers, a youthful jawline can be restored.

TREATMENTS
Marionette lines
Marionette lines (which run from the corners of the mouth vertically downwards towards the chin) are caused by repeated movement of the mouth and the loss of fat and skin elasticity.
The decrease in skin volume leads to the lines becoming deeper creases, giving the mouth a downward appearance.
Dermal fillers can be used to treat marionette lines by replacing lost volume, improving sagging and reducing the formation of jowls.
TREATMENTS
Nasolabial folds
Also known as smile lines or laugh lines, there are the deep creases that extend from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
These folds are formed due to the natural movement of the mouth and tend to become more prominent as we age.
By using dermal fillers in this area, the appearance of these folds can be softened, giving you a refreshed look.

TREATMENTS
Vertical lip line filler

Vertical lip line filler is an aesthetic procedure that targets the lines found on the top and sometimes the bottom lip.
These lines, often referred to as smoker's / barcode lines, can be exaggerated by actions like smoking, pouting or drinking through a straw, although thet can can appear in anyone.
By injecting filler into the vertical lip lines, the appearance of these lines can be softened and reduced, creating a more even and youthful look - especially when lipstick is applied.
TREATMENTS
Lip fillers
Lip fillers offer a simple and effective solution for achieving fuller and more defined lips.
Whether you're looking to create a more voluptuous pout or address the effects of aging, such as thinning lips from lost volume and dryness, lip fillers can help you achieve the results you've always desired.
The lip filler used in this treatment is specifically designed to restore lost volume and enhance the natural shape of your lips, and also help to turn the corners of the mouth up.
This procedure also includes a “dental block” which means we can numb the area with a local anaesthetic and numbing cream.

By opting for lip fillers, you can enjoy the benefits of fuller, more shapely lips without the need for constant touch-ups or temporary solutions. However if you have thin lips and you want to increase the volume, its best to do increaser them over time, over 2 – 3 treatments. This creates a more natural effect which is longer lasting and has less side effects.

TREATMENTS
Tear trough filler

Tear trough filler is a non-surgical procedure that aims to reduce the appearance of volume loss or dark under-eye circles.
This treatment involves the use of a smooth hyaluronic acid filler, which is carefully injected into the tear trough area using a small cannula.
The filler helps to restore volume and improve the overall appearance of the under-eye area, making you look refreshed and less tired.
In some cases, patients may require a combination of treatments, such as tear trough filler and dermal filler in the cheek area, to achieve the best results.

It's important to note that tear trough filler is not suitable for individuals with severe eye bags or under-eye puffiness. If you have these concerns, alternative treatments may be more appropriate for you, such as polynucleotides or Exosomes.
TREATMENTS
Nose filler - non surgical rhinoplasty
Also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or nose reshaping, this is a popular and effective alternative to traditional nose surgery.
This procedure involves using dermal fillers to address and improve the appearance of uneven bumps on the nose, resulting in a straighter and more balanced nose shape.
Unlike surgical rhinoplasty, nose filler is a non-invasive treatment that requires minimal downtime and is more affordable.
One of the major advantages of nose filler is that the results are immediately noticeable.

TREATMENTS
Glabellar filler
Frown line filler is perfect for those stubborn glabella lines between the brows, especially when they have become static, or ‘etched-in.’
We would recommend trying Botox first, in order to smooth this area. However, for anyone who doesn’t like Botox, or has particularly deep frown lines, filler is a good alternative option.
We always use a cannula as it is much safer in this area.
TREATMENTS
Temple filler
As we age, our temple areas lose fat, leading to a “hollow” look in the absence of natural volume.
Dermal fillers can help fill in these hollows and restore volume to the temples and brow area.
This can also help stretch out your skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles around your temples

Post treatment care and considerations for all fillers:

The most common side effect of tear trough filler is oedema – swelling. This can be prolonged with tear trough, but usually subsides within a few days for most and for some can last a little longer.

Pain – mild at the injection site

Erythema (redness)

Itching and bruising

Bumpiness, this will subside over a few weeks when the filler settles down and blends with your skin.
Most common side effects will subside within a few days / weeks, but this is patient dependant.

It is very uncommon to have a hypersensitivity / or allergic reaction to true hyaluronic acid fillers.

Vascular occlusion very rare (filler injected into a vein / artery) 1 in 100,000

Local tissue necrosis

Infection at the injection site

Herpes simplex (cold sores) virus infection; the filler can reactivate a dormant infection

Abscess / cellulitis

Tyndall effect – filler appears like a bruise

Surface irregularities and nodules

Biofilms (Chronic infections)

Foreign body granuloma – hard nodules

Dyspigmentation - discolouration

Scarring

Post procedure care

There is no need to rub/massage the area, especially the tear trough if you have had this procedure as it can increase swelling.

It's fine to gently clean the area before bed.

The injected area may feel lumpy or bumpy for approximately 2/3 weeks until the filler ‘blends’ with your skin (This time maybe longer, dependent upon the patient).

Do not apply skin creams or makeup for 24 hours post procedure.

Do not engage in excessive exercise for approximately 24 hours post procedure.

It’s fine to take simple pain relief such as paracetamol, but avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen/aspirin/voltarol for example.

The area that has been injected may bruise, which is common, however you should observe the area for any unusual developing redness.

Stay out of extreme heat, e.g. saunas, tanning, sunbeds for two weeks.

Always wear a high-quality SPF cream (such as Heliocare) over the area to increase the longevity of your filler.

Avoid drinking excessive alcohol for 24 hours.

If you are experiencing a lot of pain / increasing pain that you are concerned about, please get in contact with us.
NB: Non-surgical rhinoplasty
The nose is a rather vascular area and has many capillaries and blood vessels. This means it is more of a ‘risky’ place to treat with filler and is more susceptible to complications. We ensure that every possible effort is made to avoid any potential complications but it is vital that you report any concern to us as soon as possible.
If you experience any of the following, please ensure you get in contact with us (details are below)
Pain
A red nose tip, anytime following the procedure.
Swelling (severe)
